Roadtrip – Santa Rosalia

Santa Rosalia, Mexico The next night we stayed at Santa Rosalia, a town of about 11,000 people.  It will probably be as far north as we will sail on the inside of the Baja.

It is a mining town, copper and manganese, that was built by the French.  It has a lot of wooden houses (unusual since lumber had to be imported).

The church was designed by Gustave Eiffel and is constructed of prefabricated galvanized iron. What would one expect from the builder of the Eiffel Tower!?

Santa RosaliaThis is the museum; it had been the office of the mining company.
